GENERALISED ANXIETY

People with generalised anxiety experience excessive anxiety and worry often accompanied by a feeling of dread and frequently find it difficult to manage or stop the worry; the worry is persistent and not related necessarily to specific situations.
Individuals with generalised anxiety often worry about things such as their work, family and/or financial matters or health and these worries interfere with their capacity to cope with everyday life.
The worry is usually also accompanied by other symptoms which may include: feelings of restlessness or 'being on edge', feeling easily tired or worn out, problems with concentration, becoming irritable, experiencing muscle tightness or tension and problems with sleep.
