UNSPECIFIED DEPRESSIVE DISORDER
Unspecified Depressive Disorder is diagnosed when features of a depressive disorder are present and there is clinically significant distress or impairment in social, occupational or other areas of functioning, but where the individual does not meet full criteria for another depressive disorder.
Additionally this diagnosis is used where the clinician chooses not to specify the reason that the criteria are not met and is common in situations where there is little time to gather the information to inform the diagnosis or the clinician is unable to obtain the information altogether.
